Winnie in the Snow

Life barrels on and on, things are going splendidly. I had to fire my first and only employee ever, Hillary, on account of her getting me way too much work to handle it all. I know the life of a freelancer means feast and famine, but I've been blessed this year that I have had way more feast.
Next month we're going to Houston to visit Hill's family, and a month later going to Gulf Shores to spend time with mine. We're very much looking forward to it.
In the meantime, we are in hard-core money-saving mode and living like hermits, barely leaving the house. I don't mind it though.
Jack's Birthday Day
Submitted by Tim Wasson on Tue, 01/26/2010 - 07:41Instead of buying Jack a bunch of toys he'd use once and never again, Hillary and I took a different approach to his 8th birthday gift. We promised him a day full of whatever he wanted including a fancy dinner at Red Lobster and roller skating at the Peoria Palace.
We had a great time, even though he woke me up in the middle of the night to calm him down after a nightmare, and then wake us up again at the crack of dawn for breakfast.
I put the video from our day above, so you can watch Hillary knock over some random girl at the skating rink and see Jack fall over a handful of times. Overall it was a great day, and I think we've found a new tradition for our niece's and nephews' birthday parties.
New Year's Eve 2009
Submitted by Tim Wasson on Wed, 01/20/2010 - 08:01I know I have done a pretty poor job of keeping up with my resolution to type in this here blog more often. But I'll remedy that with this post which has a video AND a photo gallery!
New Year's Eve this year was spent watching the Dualing Pianos show with my lovely wife, Keith, Missy, Amy, Sandy, Dino, Nick and Diane. Some of us were split at different tables and different groups, but we all met up at different times of the night when the pianos weren't playing.
Anyway, it was a fun night full of free drinks, expensive songs, fireworks and good friends. Enjoy the video and the photo gallery.
